Federation of Great Alliances
FoG was a coalition that existed in late 1999 consisting of The Great Alliance, No Limit Soldiers, Huge Alliance of Nations, Legion and Forrest. It had roughly 800 members in total and was organized primarily by Don Machiavelli as well as the main TGA and Legion leaders.
It was opposed mostly by the TSA coalition that consisted of Moral Decay, Sons of Liberty, The Omega, Army of Darkness, Infernal Council of Nations, The Cult, Twenty Four Seven, ALLoR and Camelot
In their sole reset of existence, they encountered problems early in a war against Moral Decay. MD, alone, was capable of holding out against FoG's main tag where both NLS and Legion countries were located. This tag, of over 300 members, was severely beaten by MD alone.
In retribution for the unwarranted NLS war against New Monsters the previous round, the Monsters also jumped in independantly, where they fought and defeated HAN.
FoG was widely seen as another form of the former RoCK coalition which worried its opposition greatly. Also, The Family coalition formed later on by Legion is seen as one of it's descendant.

Here is a document outlining the organization of FoG. Note that this chat somewhat implies that TGA founded the coalition, which is debatable.
TGA Alliance group project outline:
Issue 1 - CLAN TAG For obviou reasons all alliances in this group would be expected to wear a common identifying clan tag as a subtag to thier own tag, here is a example of what I am suggesting YYYYxZZZ, In this example YYYY would be the alliances own tag, x would be the separator and ZZZ would be the common tag.FoG ( this is the common Tag or ZZZ )Lastly a practical example using TGA... TGAxFoG
Issue 2 - RULES & POLICIES While it is not the intention of this project to restrict what member alliances can do it is required that some boundaries be set to make sure we all adheare to a "common goal" which is ultimately the protection of all member alliances and countries. For ease of flow I will start with what we will allow and any limits imposed...
WEB SITES While no restrictions will exist as far as websites go the idea is to have excellent communication and coordination across all member alliances so I have several suggestions. TGA has Gamerstown, Infernal Domian and our owm webspace so we would be glad to host part or all of the webspace for any member alliance that wishes, additionally we have the ability to send "mass in game messages" to provide the best form of communication possible in this game - should you wish to benifit from this it would require maintaining the country list for your alliance on our site. Gamerstown offers the ability to share message bases and spy info as well as the status of any given country with other alliances in the group so I would suggest that even if you have other webspace and do not wish to be hosted in part at the TGA site that you would consider a Gamers site in addition to your present setup - at a MINIMUM the leaders of all member alliances should have at least limited access to all sites.
PACTS FoG will not limit any outside pacts you may wish to create or continue, however there will be a council ( explained later ) which must approve any outside military action - this does not mean you will not be allowed to assist your wronged allies, and will allow you to potentially call on other group alliances to assist as well - however the idea is we will protect our own above all and in some cases where a war or present danger exists you may be pulled off of or restricted from assisting outside the group, we will make every effort to allow you to fufil any obligations but your allies should be made aware of this fact beforehand.
LAND POLICIES FoG will not restrict member alliances from creating and upholding any reasonable land aquisition policy, while TGA itself will continue it's current policy all we ask is to review your intended policy and be made aware of any updates to said policies so we have a current record of that policy on hand for referance and enforcement reasons. Should the council find a member alliances policy to be considered far outside what is acceptable in terms of balance, suggestions would be made in a effort to produce a policy that can be enforced without undue agression or conflict.
WAR FoG is ultimately being created to provide a strong deterant to other alliances from wishing to engage us in war, however our group may well find situations in the game which will force us to consider war as a means of accomplishing our goals. We must have a solid structure that can act quickly to insure the protection of our group while also allowing each individual alliance to have fair say in what we do as a group. For this reason no individual alliance would be able to "declare war" without the aproval of the council, who will decide on individual alliances entering into battle up to the entire group entering battle - the only exception to this proceedure ( council and proceedure are next, bear with me a few more moments :) would be in the event that a member alliance is attacked, at which point immediate defense would be expected and automatic.
Issue 3 = CHAIN of COMMAND A well structured chain of leadership is one of the key factors of success in a project such as this, and though there is no desire to "strip power" from member alliamces most would have to agree a known chain of command must exist. Thus here are my suggestions...
COUNCIL This will be the administrative panal for the group and decisions that affect the group would be discussed and approved or denied by this group. Construction of this group could be done in this manner... Each member alliance would place one person on this panel per 50 countries on thier alliance and each council member would have 1 vote on any issue. * To a maximum of 3 votes per alliance* Communication. I cannot stress how important this is, but I can say that council memebers should be active and available types who have ICQ and a IRC client to allow group discussions to take place.
MEMBER ALLIANCE LEADERSHIP FoG plans to impose no restrictions on who or how member alliances will be allowed to setup internal chains of command other than to understand the restrictions involving the declaration of war of any kind.
I realize this may not cover everything and is not set in stone by any means, but it is a foundation to build on, discuss and modify...
