Market transfers
Market transfers are acts, usually coordinated by members of an alliance, designed to sidestep the FA limitations of the game. This is done, usually with the goal of having one country being placed higher in the ranks than it would have had the transfer not taken place. The usual method of achieving this is by having members of an alliance put extremely cheap oil barrels on the public market, while the member whose country will be placed higher in the ranks waits online for the cheap items to arrive at the market so he/she can quickly buy them before anyone else can. This member then resells the items at the normal price, making a handsome profit in return. The profit is even greater if coordinated with a market buyout.
This method of acquiring more networth has been largely made obsolete by the introduction of standing orders.
