Standing Order

A Standing Order is a feature of the market whereby you may set a request for the market to auto-purchase any goods of a certain type at or below a certain price, as soon as they are made available.

Standing Orders or SO's were implemented with several goals in mind: first, to counter market camping, especially market camping using automated scripts or browser auto-refresh; secondly, to make market transfers at low prices difficult (for example transferring oil at $20 at a certain time); thirdly to stabilize the markets of smaller servers like tournament during the off-hours when not so many people play; and finally to de-emphasize excessive time spent watching the market, and make skill with pricing more important.
