SALT Origins

Link and PapaSmurf joined Panlv because their friend MadMorticia played there. Unfortunately MadMorticia retired from the game. This was one of the reasons Link and PapaSmurf decided to form SALT. Also, Panlv is a netting clan and Link & PapaSmurf preferred warring.

History

Set 1: Eighth round: Mar 28, 2011 - May 28, 2011
Netting was always the plan of this set, but it just wasnt meant to be. Acting as police for an ally we demolished the one man "HARSHAL" tag, and we tried to go back to netting. Thats when Ares tried to make demands of one of our members, we told Ares to bleep off, and prepared for attack. A few days after the 'discussion' Ares FSes SALT. However, we overcame their pretty strong FS. We made a nice CS and we ended up tag killed them pretty efficiently.

Toward the end of the set llaar challanged us just for the fun of it. We allowed him the FS and tag killed him inside of about 4 days, despite his great walling efforts.

In the long run it was a pretty good first set, we had a great war effort. However, we were unable to net like we planned. Our highest ranked country was only rank 237.

Set 2: Ninth round: May 29, 2011 - Jul 30, 2011
This set we were preparing for war. However we did not prepare that great. We were saving turns to FS a new clan SemperFi. However, our FDP IMP called us in to help in a war in which the FSed TKO. However we end up abandoning IMP and FS SemperFi, we cited the reason was IMP FSed TKO and our pact was a defensive pact not a offensive pact. However, in the long run we decide we should not have abandoned our ally. Our FS sent SemperFi back peddling, even though they were bigger and had more members they were blindsided and netting. We beat SemperFi and eventually signed a cease fire (signed twice), some shady tactics by the president of SemperFi, Walding.

At this point our activity plummets, since we planned war and we got one. However a bigger warring clan CC, they said it was fair because we had bigger countries, however after the FS any NW advantage was nullified. And they had twice the amount of countries. We called in our FDP Ares to FS CC. At this time it quite an even war. Membership and Networth were near identical. However, thinks they are some sort of political geniuses and call in FoCuS to FS Ares. Which again creates a very lopsided war. Both SALT and Ares are eventually killed, the only reason it took as long as it did was due to extremely high oil prices. However, CC is goat of the server by turning a fair war into a lopsided one.

We consider the set overall a failure. As we basically abandoned a FDP and got tag killed in a lopsided war.

Set 3: Tenth round: Jul 30, 2011 - Sep 30, 2011
This set we team up with Mercs. We plan to FS CC, fairly early in the set. We knew CC, would still be in early stages of teching. Our timing was prefect CC did call in a clan PoD. SALT and Mercs started off great we had combined chats, however at the end of the war we ended up having separate chats. There was talk on FFAT that SALT was out preforming Mercs, however this was untrue. But Mercs let FFAT get the best of them, so we end up in separate chats. However this and PoD made little difference and we dominate CC.

After the ceasefire was signed, we had just finish recovering from war. That is when SemperFi FSed us. This was payback from last set, they out numbered us by 300 countries. It was pretty much over after the FS.

Overall the reset was successful in our opinion. The war against CC was nearly flawless. SemperFi domination of us wasn't really that big of a deal. We understood why they did it and it wasn't like we performed badly, we never had a chance.
