Player: Mr. Niphty
AKA: Rook
History Mr. Niphty was caught running mutlis in early 1998 and briefly hounded out of the public eye. This was a time when multis were in common use and were fine unless you got caught, and then you got ostracized. Like Anthony Coilli, Mr. Niphty had a vivid reaction to being tarred and feathered. Whereas Coilli founded ENN, Mr. Niphty went to work creating an alliance to hunt and kill cheaters. Along with Castejon, Mr. Niphty took a faction of UBN and formed the Omega.
Castejon and Mr. Niphty had a falling out early in Omega's first reset, and Castejon left the alliance with Mr. Niphty in charge (Castejon would go on to found LCN). Omega's open recruitment through the solarianet forums led to an alliance made up largely of spies and spammers, and was not liked by the establishment.
About a month into the reset, someone claiming to be a "Solarianet Administrator" made a post on RoCK's public forum telling them to do a certain thing to a certain part of the male anatomy. RoCK claimed to have traced the post back to Mr. Niphty and used it as a justification to attack Omega. The attack was a slaughter, and many Omegans (including most of the spies) left the alliance, leaving it at about a third of it's start of reset size.
Mr. Niphty remained in Omega as a semi-active regular member until being kicked out of the alliance during the WWIII reset for unspecified reasons. At this point Mr. Niphty pretty much disappeared from the earth:2025 radar.
A few years later, Rook surfaced, mainly on the general talk message board and in the non-alliance servers. Rook built a reputation as a sensible and mature poster on the forums, eventually becoming a Swirve mod. After a while Rook was revealed to be Mr. Niphty, but a far more mature and balanced version. Rook would later rejoin the Omega and be a productive member for several years before eventually retiring from the game.
