World War IX
Summary of the Ninth World War
World War IX was a colossal conflict between the ARROW/SOL bloc & allies versus the bloc of the Illuminati X. It began on October 30, 2004 with SOL's attack on LCN and Unknown. It ended on November 30, 2004. Over 2,500 players were involved between the two sides and thousands of countries were killed. The ARROW/SOL bloc was headed by powers such as ARROW, MD, Omega, PDM, RAGE, SoF, and SOL, meanwhile the IX bloc was headed by IX, LCN, and TIE. The war ended in a general victory for the ARROW/SOL bloc, as the majority of the IX bloc's alliances were defeated.
Origins of the War
SOL: Revenge on LCN/Unknown
The previous set's Stooges War left SOL defeated at the hands of LCN and Unknown. SOL thus wanted revenge and a shot at defeating LCN/Unknown on their own. [edit] PDM and RAGE: Revenge on IX
PDM had been wanting to fight and defeat IX since the latter smashed PDM with a then record FS during TIL War II in 2002. PDM and IX did not fight in 2003, but PDM intervened briefly and cut short IX's participation in the TIS War of May 2004. Relations were briefly established in 2004 till PDM dropped pact with IX at the end of September and prepared to join RAGE in an anti-IX campaign.
RAGE had also been wanting to fight IX since the latter crushed RAGE in the Fourth IX-RAGE War of January 2004. IX and RAGE fought again in the TIS War, but President Icez of RAGE wanted revenge for the winter war. [edit] ARROW/SOL: Searching to Defeat IX Bloc in Coalition War
The ARROW/SOL bloc had already been defeated twice between May and July 2004 by the IX bloc. SOL again was defeated by IX's allies during the Stooges War, meanwhile ARROW decided on a low-key conflict against TH. By October 2004, ARROW and SOL were looking to build an anti-IX coalition that could employ the services of MD, PDM, Omega, and SoF. PDM was clearly anti-IX, and MD, SoF, and Omega were looking to re-establish themselves in Earth politics. SOL began the war by attacking LCN and Unknown on the evening of October 30. ARROW then followed on October 31 with its attack on TIE.
PDM and RAGE then attacked IX on the evening of November 1, while Omega was also FSing Steel. MD followed the next day with their attack on LaF. [edit] IX Bloc Calls in Allies
After sustaining ARROW's attacks and stabilizing the situation, TIE called in Elitez against ARROW.
IX also brought in Ragnarok against PDM, and MX and Exodus against RAGE. The latter two had to withdraw soon after when they were threatened by SoF. Ragnarok hit PDM unchallenged and helped IX defeat them. Shortly thereafter IX dropped loyal Ragnarok for no apparently reason.
