Market buyout
(Redirected from Buyouts)
A market buyout is a coordinated effort, usually by members of an alliance, to drive prices of a commodity on the public market higher than normal. This is normally done to the oil or bushel markets. One country will put a batch of items at a high price that normally would not sell, while other countries buy all the units at the cheaper prices until reaching the set price. Then, other players are forced to either buy the more expensive items, or wait until cheaper items become available.
