Background
The SOL/Ely vs LaF war of sept 2010, started as two separate conflicts. This war was during the Fifth Round of the Alliance Server.
LaF vs Ely & SOL vs LaF
The LaF vs Ely conflict needs to be viewed in the light of the previous reset, of which this set seemed to be a repetition of.
SOL`s point of view
SOLs membership had taken a dive since last reset after one of our divisions folded. A few weeks into the reset a few LaF country's started to target a few established alliance, among them, SOL. SOL retaled the hits according to its public retal policy, more LGs came and we sought a diplomatic solution to the issue at hand, even if LaFs Head of FR did not agree to our retal policy, we felt we were getting closer to a solution, LaF then proceeded to RoR a SOL country, and we had problems coming to an agreement with LaF, at this point, the order to prep for war was given, and SOL mobilized. The decision to FS LaF was not an easy one, as the SOL HQ viewed LaF as a friend, but at the same time, both membership and leadership had been left with a bad taste and a feeling that LaF was trying to take advantage of SOLs decreasing numbers and use us as their land source. With no diplomatic solution insight, SOL declared war on LaF on the evening of august the 25th

Elysium`s point of view
In what seemed to be Elysiums last set as an alliance and while down to 5 tagged members, LaF sought to take advantage of Elysium`s demise from a once formidable alliance, and an aggressive land exchanges started around the 13th of august, this quickly escalated when LaF started an all out farming of Ely, Ely farmed a handful of LaF country's in return and shortly after, LaF proceeded to AB Ely on the 16th and on the 24th of august, LaF FSed Elysium, however without posting a wardec, the state of war is a subject for discussion. Elysium declared war on LaF on the 27th

Short summary
On Aug 25th, LaF outnumbered SOL about 60/40 and had an significant (~150mill) Networth and land (~200k acres) advantage on SOL.
SOL`s War dept quickly planned on taking down LaFs production capabilities and to relie on our wallers to turn the tide in what seemed to become an battle uphill.
Elysium shortly after joined SOLs warroom with their 1 remaining country (of an original 5) and with their restarts to help finish killruns.
Short of a week out in the war, LaF seemed unorganized and had been hitting low value targets for seemingly easy kills, they had also proceeded to call back their veteran core from retirement to help turn the tide against SOL, at this point, SOL was closing on LaFs avg land and NW, but LaF still had the totals.
LaF saved turns for a big chat for close to approximately 26 hours, and this did of course not go unnoticed by, SOL prepped for an new alliance to enter the scene for LaF and scrambled to wall. However, no new alliance came in, and LaF had a special chat to take down SOL`s biggest breakers, unfortunately for LaF, every target in this chat, was already online, or got on, and LaF`s big chat, ended in 0 kills.
A week and 1/2 out, LaFs hit stats had taken up and they had again surpassed SOL&Ely`s total hits and kills, and they seemed to be bouncing back, but the lack of breakers now started to show on LaFs side and SOLs tactics and target selection seemed to have worked.
On August 26th, SOL tagkilled LaF with the death of their last original.
