Suiciding

Suiciding is the act of attacking another country or alliance without regard for consequences--which most often includes death--to one's own country/alliance while trying to inflict maximum damage. It occurs more often in alliance-based servers, but single countries in individual-based servers have also been targeted. Suiciding is often carried out by single players, often with indirect help from others, and is more of a threat to alliances whose main focus is on netting, than those whose focus is on killing, due to the effects of the damages of suiciding.

Causes of Suiciding

People who suicide on others normally have a grievance against the ones being suicided upon. Either the alliance or country in question attacked the suicider's country in the past, or the suicider's alliance lost a war to the suicided alliance prior to the suiciding.

Suiciders have also been known to strike in an effort to help their alliances obtain higher rankings than the alliance being suicided upon. Others have suicided purely as acts of randomness.

Perpetrators of Suiciding

The countries involved in suiciding are often untagged countries, or countries not obviously affiliated with a particular alliance. The suiciding country is often a restart, thus necessitating FA to enable the country to hit its targets. Finding a country in an alliance pacted to a suicider is often the best method of determining which alliance is responsible for the suiciding.

If a suicider is tagged with its alliance, or is recently untagged from its alliance within a certain period, that alliance will be made to pay reparations to the damaged alliance, or face the consequences.

Acts of Suiciding

Suiciding is often achieved by grabbing or nuking large amounts of land from the target alliance, which are often the most damaging attacks, especially to alliances whose main focus is netting. Grabbing land is often not enough; countries whose stock is on hand when the grabs occur are the main targets. Grabbing land hinders a country's production capabilities; grabbing stock demolishes the reason for having that land--high ranks at the end of the reset. More importantly, however; grabbing stock enables the suicider to use the stock to buy more military and technology to continue the suiciding.

Suiciders who are unable to grab countries with too many turrets can often GS the countries instead, this killing civilians and destroying bushels--a common form of stock--in the process.

Consequences of Suiciding

Death. Always death.
