Read the Rules!
Before playing, familiarize yourself with the game rules first.
Create an Account
To get started, make an account and then create your country; once you've created a country, you can start playing your first turns.
Choose a server
Countries not playing from within an established clan on clan-based servers will usually be attacked more frequently by other players! It is recommended that new players seek clans to play in on these servers. If you do not receive recruitment messages in-game, try introducing yourself on any of the Alliance,Free For All, or Team forums.
Earth Empires has six different game servers, each with their own particular set of rules and/or game constants. The general mechanics of countries on each server is constant, but each server has different rule sets which may allow certain things like clan play, or the maximum number of turns you may have at one time to name a couple. Depending on the server, these conditions will vary. This section addresses each of the server types and their individual nuances.
After you have created an account and logged in, you will be placed on the portal page. For now we'll just discuss each server and what they are. We'll also try to recommend which servers are generally better suited for newer or experienced players.

Primary Talk & Primary Help | The primary server offers standard-length games and resets every 2 months. Players get one turn every 30 and can have a maximum of 80 turns on hand and another 80 stored. Team-play is not permitted. This server is intended for players who play without a clan structure. The Primary Help Forum was created to assist new players learn the game basics. This is a slower paced server, and is great for players who enjoy the slower pace. Many players start in primary, then later decide to join other servers and clans. | ||||||||||||||||||||

AllianceMore info... |
Alliance Talk | The alliance server offers standard-length games and resets every 2 months. Players get one turn every 20 minutes and can have a maximum of 120 turns on hand and another 120 stored. Clan play is permitted (and recommended!); this is the most popular server because of this type of play. A clan is a team of players who work together within the server and can be identified by a tag (attached to their country name). This is a good server for new players seeking help because clans will competitively recruit untagged players and put a lot of time and effort into teaching players how the game works! | ||||||||||||||||||||

Make Friends & Benefit your Country
In Earth Empires, friends come with benefits! Many new players will find that playing outside of a clan, or being in an unknown and unestablished clan (on alliance-based servers) can result in a less-than-extraordinary gaming experience. The simple fact of this post-apocalyptic world, is that land-hungry empires prey on the weak and undefended. The strong and powerful strive to grow their empire and the ruthless will stop at nothing to achieve it!
The types of relations (aka pacts) you may have with other countries are Defensive, Offensive, Research, Intelligence, and Trade. Each of these will benefit you and your friends.
Benefits of Alliances
Most alliances (also called 'tags'), have experienced members who can provide new players with the knowledge, experience and (possibly) protection they need to learn the finer details of the game. What many new players often don't get to see right away, is the political structure between alliances. These player-defined policies govern what constitutes acts of war, the reparations and retaliations of attacks, all the way up to inter-alliance pacting.
Strategies
These are the 7 main strategies used in Earth Empires. It is highly recommended you specialize in one of these. Rainbow strategies are considered to be the least effective in Earth Empires.
| Strategy | Details (see each strat page for more information) |
|---|---|
| Industrialist | This is one of the easiest and fastest to start with. The purpose of this is to produce military strength. |
| Casher | This strategy is directed toward cold hard cash. You'll be producing money with this strategy. |
| Farmer | If you like farmville this will be boring! You'll be producing "bushels" or food with this strategy. |
| Oiler | Without Oil armies cant move! You'll be producing barrels of oil with this one. |
| Techer | The "techer" researches and produces any of the 12 technologies available. |
| Reseller | This will be buying military and reselling it. This is an end game and only recommended for advanced players. |
| Rainbow | A mix of all different types of buildings. People often make the mistake that diversity equals prosperity. |
All of these strategies are vital to the economy of the game. With the exception of rainbow strategies, they are equally viable in making your country grow. The pros and cons of each are detailed in each of the strategy sections.
Basics in Defence
You MUST defend your country, otherwise you can expect to be attacked frequently by other countries.
- Defensive Defense - Have enough units with defensive attributes to keep others from attacking you. (most common)
- Offensive Defense - Have so many offensive units a player is scared to attack you.
- Tag Defense - If you're in a strong alliance, that can be defense enough! However, if you rely on this and war comes you'll be in a tight situation. (very effective)
Spies
Spies are very important in the game. Their main purpose is to spy on other countries so you can find out their military and economic capacity. Also, special spy operations allow you to steal, destroy, and negatively affect other countries' military, goods, and economy. The strength of your intelligence operations is based on the ratio of spies to land owned, known in-game as "Spies Per Acre Land", or simply, "SPAL". The higher your SPAL, the more likely your operations will succeed, and the less likely other countries will be able to use their spies against you. Spies are very expensive for your country to upkeep.
Sell on the market
Most strategies rely on selling on the market. Each server has different rules for the speed your product gets to the market, so read up on the rules for your server.
Private Market
The Private market is an internal market- these goods are bought/sold within your country. Building military bases and buying military technology will alter the prices on this market. It's key use is in the "Reseller" strategy.
Public Market
The Public Market contains goods that are put up for sale by players. The purchase prices are usually much lower than the prices on the private market. The prices will vary with the current game economy, so keep this in mind when buying and selling. A great resource to watch market trends is EEStats.com.
Stop the Farming
Getting farmed? Boost your defense, find some defensive allies or join a clan. Sometimes the big guys just pick on the little guys.
